70 Mile House & Green Lake

The Gold Country GeoTourism Program will guide you around some of the area’s most scenic and historic landmarks, including a beautiful lake and the site of a gold trail roadhouse. 

During the summer, visitors can enjoy all the outdoor activities that have become synonymous with the beautiful wilderness of British Columbia: camping, horseback riding, mountain biking or hiking; swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, as well as some outstanding fishing. Green Lake Provincial Park is the perfect place to enjoy hiking and bird watching. Keep an eye out for osprey, eagles, loons and ducks. Take a 1km interpretive hike starting at the Sunset View campground. There are 18 public access points to Green Lake for swimmers, boaters, windsurfers and water-skiers. Fishing is always popular, and boats can be rented from local accommodations. 

The Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail currently starts at 70 Mile House and ends 170 km further north at Horsefly. This well-maintained route will eventually begin in Clinton and extend 463 km north to Wells. For trails around Green Lake contact the Green Lake Snowmobile Club. Plenty of trials to ride on for fun in the snow!

 Huber Farms in 70 Mile House hosts an annual Cariboo Trails Combined Driving Event every September. This exciting equestrian sport involves carriages drawn by either a single horse/pony or a team. They perform many skills such as dressage, country cross marathon and obstacle cone driving.
